The Classical Guitar Cruise - 2003

The idea for The Classical Guitar Cruise was born from an unexpected moment of clarity following the events of September 11, 2001. In the wake of that day's profound impact, a classical guitarist sought a way to navigate uncertain times while reigniting his passion for music. What began as a practical plan to perform on a cruise ship evolved into something far greater—a vision to create a unique musical retreat at sea where artists and enthusiasts could come together in celebration of the classical guitar.

The Classical Guitar Cruise became reality in 2003, bringing together world-class artists including David Tanenbaum from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, renowned fingerstyle guitarist Muriel Anderson, Adam Holzman from the University of Texas, and classical virtuoso Dimitri Diatchenko. The event featured intimate concerts, master classes, workshops, and collaborative sessions—all captured in documentary footage that continues to inspire guitarists today.

More than two decades later, a conversation with a fellow electric guitarist sparked a new evolution. Building on the legacy of the Classical Guitar Cruise, we're proud to introduce The Ultimate Guitar Cruise—the first event of its kind to unite classical and electric guitarists in one extraordinary experience.

Set to sail December 5-12, 2026 from San Pedro, California to the Mexican Riviera, this groundbreaking event expands our vision to welcome guitarists of all styles—classical, electric, flamenco, fingerstyle, and everything in between. Limited to just 100 participants, this intimate gathering offers an unparalleled, immersive experience aboard a luxury liner.

This is more than a cruise. It's a transformative musical journey where guitar artistry meets the magic of the open sea, creating an extraordinary retreat for those who live and breathe music.

We're also creating a platform for industry dialogue.
